Monarch Chrysalis Kits - $25
There is a Monarch Chrysalis hanging inside a glass jar with a Ribbon hanging down and crumbled paper at the bottom Monarch Chrysalis do well in 60-75 degree temperatures. If it is in a dry area the chrysalis may need a quick spritz of water. Remember that the chrysalis can endure most climates but because you have it in a protected enclosure you want to give it the best care available. You don't want to keep it in direct sunlight because most of the time the chrysalis is hiding under a leaf or piece of wood. Also keeping it away from the draft of an air conditioner or heater is advised. There is always a chance that the chrysalis may have a disease and turn a different color or have spots then never emerge, that is just the way of the world. Because the butterflies, eggs, caterpillars are raised within a clean facility most likely that will not happen but sometime we just don't have control over these things. There is not a lot of care needed you just have to let nature take its course. The chrysalis will turn clear and you will be able to see the black butterfly inside. When this happens most likely the butterfly will emerge the next morning so be prepared to patiently watch for at any minute the butterfly will crack out of the chrysalis ready to see its new world. The butterfly will grab onto the ribbon while it hangs there pumping fluid from its enlarged body into its wings. For about 12 hours the butterflies wings will need to dry. you will be able to tell that they look flimsy. Any fluid that comes out of the the chrysalis or from the butterfly itself is normal, don't be alarmed it is not bleeding. You will be able to tell when its time to release him when it starts to try and climb around in the cup. Name your butterfly and release it so that it has a new chance on life and can enjoy nature. Now hopefully you have a butterfly garden and it will come back to visit you.
